Advent 3, Year C

Leader: Today is the Third Sunday in Advent. The Lord rejoices over you.
Children: God says “I will bring you home.”
All: In this new light, we will give thanks to the Lord
Leader: With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation
Children: We light a third candle, the candle of joy.
All: As a covenant people, we will seek to live in the joy of the Lord.

Leader: Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labor in vain.
All Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.
Children: There is no point in getting up early
And staying up late just to earn a living
Leader: Commit all your ways to the Lord.

All: May the Lord bless our worship and our service,
He is our life and our salvation.

Leader: The Lord Most High is our home.
Children: God is our tent, our caravan, our fortress.
All: The Lord God is our refuge and our strength.
Leader: The Lord is with us in all trouble
Children: God is stronger than lions and snakes,
He is bigger than the monsters on TV.
All: We will call upon the Lord, and He will answer.

All: Teach us to use wisely all the time we have.

Leader: Your Name, O God, is mighty

August 16

Leader: Shout praises to the Lord!

Children: God has done mighty things!

All: His deeds are glorious and majestic

And his love endures forever.

Leader: Come, let us remember what God has done.

Children: God is always honest and fair,

He can be trusted!

All: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;

He is worthy of praises forever.

Psalm 130

Leader: O Lord, hear our cry.

Children: The bottom has fallen out of our world.

All: Out of the depths we cry to you,

From a seas of troubles, we call your name.

Leader: If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins

None of us could stand before you.

Children: But we know that you forgive us.

All. O Lord, we long for you with all that we are

And we put our hope in your word alone.

Leader:The Lord is kind and gracious to all.

Children: Please be kind to us.

All: Wash us completely clean

From all our sin and guilt.

Leader: Father, we have sinned against you.

Children: You like us to tell the truth.

All: Create in us a new heart,

Renew your Spirit in us

So we can worship you

As Jesus said, in spirit and in truth.

Call to worship

Leader: The fool says in his heart

'There is no God.'

All: The Lord looks down from heaven

To see if there are any who understand and seek God.

Children: We’re not silly. We know that God loves us.

All: The Lord is our refuge.

We will rejoice and be glad.

Leader: Let us call on the Lord together.

Children: We know that God is with us this morning.

All: Let us give thanks and praise,

Jesus is our Lord and Saviour.

Bible Sunday, July 19

Leader: Blessed are those who walk according to the law of the Lord

People: Your word, O Lord, is eternal

It stands firm in the heavens.

Children Help us to listen to what you have said.

Leader Blessed are those who seek God with all their hearts.

People Your word is a light to our feet

And a light to our path

Children Help us to obey what you have said.

All Let us worship God together.

Leader The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;

Children Who can come to worship the Lord?

All All those who have clean hands and pure hearts

Those who love God more than anything.

Leader The Lord himself calls creation to worship,

And he has sent his salvation.

Children We receive blessings that we don’t deserve.

All We give thanks and praise to the Lord our God

The King of glory, strong and mighty in battle.
